Iv just gone to view my timeline in arc editor as I was advised to move over to this as the original app kept stopping and now it’s asking me to subscribe but I have already paid the lifetime subscription can you please help as I’m going to Switzerland today and wanted to record my journey , thanks
Similar. Arc Editor is now asking to “choose your plan” in the Beta (build 49).
The last few weeks + builds it used to ask this now and again (and after a while work with the existing lifetime plan).
But recently (last few days) it always asks to choose a plan. I can no longer use the app.
Pressing the restore button or force-quiting the app does not help.
In a previous post (2023: Arc not able to restore subscription after last update ) it was related to an internet problem. Don’t think that that is the case here.
These are beta releases, on TestFlight not the App Store proper. That means that purchases within them are all fake - no money involved.
When the app ships to the App Store proper it will correctly carry over your subscription from the real subscriptions system on Apple’s side. But while in TestFlight sandbox mode it doesn’t know about those, so you will need to do a fake purchase to get through.
I recommend doing a fake lifetime purchase. It’ll say “Sandbox” or “TestFlight” at the top of the purchase view, so you’ll know it’s not for real.
Ahhhh, thanks. I did not think of that.
Thanks guys this has helped and it all seems to be working again
I’m not on beta but I have the same issue. My lifetime subscription didn’t carry over to Arc Timeline 4 and now I’m on a one week trial.
How should I resolve this issue?
Hi @que2! Have you installed the latest version of the old Arc Timeline app?
Yes, I updated the latest version of the old app first and then installed ARC TImeline 4 after the old app suggested it.
I am having the same exact issue. Arc Timeline 4 is not seeing my lifetime subscription.
Edit: Ok, I had to actually run the updated version of the old Arc Timeline app, then run Arc Timeline 4 and now it sees my lifetime subscription..
@mrkmhlr Glad to hear you got it resolved!
@que2 Is it still not working yet? I wonder if … it’s probably worth trying opening the Subscription Settings view in the old app, to trigger some communication between the App Store and the RevenueCat service (which is what manages the sharing of the subscriptions and purchases between the two apps). Maybe there’s some outdated cached information on RevenueCat’s side.
@que2 Ah I think it might actually be ok now!
I suspect what’s happening is the purchase view is picking up your free trial and showing that, because that was started in the new app and the new app knows about it fully. But underneath that it’s also almost certainly got the lifetime entitlement carried over from the old app.
So as long as you’ve cancelled that yearly trial, you should be all good. You just want to make sure it’s cancelled so it doesn’t start charging in a week’s time.
Thank you, makes sense!
Yes, I cancelled it immediately after I had to subscribe.
