I was able the get Arc v4 to restore the purchase I made using v3. However, v4 does not take over the subscription fully. Instead it reports that the old app retains management.
To get it fully transferred, do I have to cancel, wait until it expires in November, and resubscribe using v4? I was otherwise hoping to delete v3 from my iPhone once the subscription transferred.
Hi @earthsaver! Yep, that’s the needed series of events if you want to fully move the subscription management over to the new app.
The new app can know about the old app’s subscriptions/entitlements, but it can’t manage them, because the App Store links them to apps not accounts.
So yeah what you describe is what I’d probably personally do too. Cancel in the old app, wait for it to expire, then start a fresh one in the new app. Avoiding starting the new one before the old one expires, because otherwise you’d be paying twice for the overlap.
Sounds good. Just one correction: Currently, when I open v3 and go to the subscription settings, the app freezes. I’ve tried force quitting the app but not restarting the iPhone (not worth my time to troubleshoot further). So, instead, I canceled the subscription in the App Store. Then, added a reminder to subscribe on November 29.
