Hi, after having a monthly subscription for about a year, I became a lifetime backer on Feb 16, 2022 (a single payment of £119.99). However on 28 Feb I was again charged a monthly subscription through Apple subscriptions. I have complained to Apple requesting a refund, and they may sort this out on their own, but it looks as though the lifetime backer process may be a bit flaky. Not sure if that is Arc’s or Apple’s responsibility. Could you let me know the situation?
Ugh. Yeah, that really shouldn’t happen! Sorry about that.
Arc itself can’t cancel a subscription - that has to be done by the customer. But Arc is supposed to warn you to do that, when it notices both lifetime sub and another sub still active.
If Apple don’t sort out the refund, let me know and I’ll see what I can do from my end. Subscriptions and refunds and almost all of that stuff are controlled solely by Apple, and app developers are kept out of the loop. But this is a pretty clear cut case where a refund is due.
