Merge recorded sites into one

How can I merge a number of home sites into one?

Hi Griggsy, welcome to the forum!

Three duplicate “Home” places at 16 Steele Pl with 3115 / 689 / 1920 visits between them — that’s the classic shape Place Merge is designed to handle. We’ve got it filed as BIG-153, on the list for an upcoming feature release. With our current release cadence it should be only a few weeks out.

Manual reassignment per visit isn’t realistic at this scale (5000+ visits across the three), so best to wait for Place Merge to land rather than try to clean it up by hand.

Hi Griggsy, following up as promised: Place Merge shipped today in v1.6.0 (BIG-153).

For your three Home places: open the one you want to keep (from the Places tab, or by tapping any visit there), then the ⋯ button top right, then Merge Places. The other two Homes should be at the top of the candidate list, numbered to match the map. Merge them in one at a time, and all 5,000+ visits will come across with the counts and stats recomputed.

It took longer to arrive than we hoped back in May. Thanks for waiting rather than hand-editing your way through it.

Is this update available in Australia? How to I get the latest version?

I ask because I’m not seeing the … in the top right!

@Griggsy It’s on a 7 day phased rollout. But that should only affect the auto updates. You should still be able to go into the App Store and find the Update button there, to jump ahead in the queue!

Thanks. Found the update in App Store.

The merge is mostly working for me.
