Hi. Just started using Arc. I am trying to label my sporting activities but find there is very little choice. Is there any way to edit/create new categories as I would like to be able to differentiate.
Also it picked up a walking work out from Apple Health, but not that table tennis was a work out? Is that because there is no table tennis option in activities.
Welcome aboard! Two answers:
Custom activity types: there’s no way to create or edit your own types today, but you’re in good company asking — it’s one of the most requested features, and it’s tracked as BIG-692 (user-defined types, plus variants of existing ones). Your voice is on that ticket now. No promises on timing, but it’s firmly on the list.
The table tennis workout: that one’s by design rather than an oversight. Arc’s timeline is made of trips and visits, built from location data — so the workout import can only bring in workouts that carry a GPS route, the outdoor on-the-move kind like your walk. A table tennis session happens inside a single visit, so there’s no route to place, and it was never offered for import.
The good news is the visit already holds the workout’s story without any import needed: open the visit’s details view and you’ll find the heart rate graph, average and maximum heart rate, energy burned, steps, and floors climbed for your time there. For a workout that all happened in one place, that view is its home.
