Double payments

Hello, after upgrading to version 4 I was charged again although my subscription renewed at 25/05/2026.

Please advice.

Patrick

Hi Patrick — sorry about that, let’s get it sorted. First the reassuring part: your Arc Timeline subscription carries over to Arc Timeline 4 automatically. Subscribers to the original app never need to buy again, so if you were charged for a new subscription in Arc Timeline 4, that’s an accidental double-up that can be unwound.

To confirm what happened, on your iPhone open Settings → your name at the top → Subscriptions. You should see your original “Arc Timeline” subscription there — check whether a second Arc subscription is listed alongside it, and what it charged.

If there’s a second subscription: one thing to know first — subscriptions and refunds sit between you and Apple; we have no ability to see or manage them from our side. So the unwinding is done through Apple:

  1. Request a refund for the newer charge at https://reportaproblem.apple.com. Refunds are Apple’s decision, but a recent accidental duplicate like this has a good chance of being approved.
  2. In that same Subscriptions screen, cancel the newer subscription’s auto-renewal so it doesn’t bill again.
  3. Then to get Arc Timeline 4 recognising your original subscription: open the original Arc Timeline app and use Restore Purchases in its settings. Arc Timeline 4 should then recognise it. There’s a full step-by-step guide covering the edge cases here: Subscription carryover — what’s normal, what to do if something looks wrong

If there’s no second subscription listed: open Arc Timeline 4 → Settings → Debug Info, and in the Subscription section tap the “customer ID” row (it copies itself) — then paste it here. It’s an anonymous identifier, safe to share, and it lets us look up what our subscription system has seen from your device.
