Picture the scenario, I drive somewhere, park and immediately start to walk. I get home and the track is all messed up because it can’t differentiate between driving & walking easily. I eventually resolve it by editing each section manually.
Is there the ability to ’pin’ a new place / location / mode of travel that I don’t know about?
@StuFather There isn’t a pin control as such, but there is a way to get the effect you’re after in exactly that scenario.
Most likely what’s happening: when you park and walk off straight away, the stop at the car is too brief to be kept as a visit of its own, so it gets folded in and the drive and walk end up as one trip, labelled by whichever activity makes up most of it. (Individual Segments shows the runs of each activity inside it.)
The trick is to give it that stop back. Open the trip’s details and tap the pin button at the bottom (Extract visits). It lists the brief stops inside the trip. Pick the one where you parked (if it isn’t showing, the +/− control reveals shorter ones), then either choose a place for it or tap Custom Title and call it something like Parking. A visit you’ve given a place or a name is always kept, so the day comes out as drive → parking → walk rather than one blended trip. Do this before changing any activity types, then fix up whatever’s left.
And the section-by-section corrections you’ve been making aren’t wasted: each one trains the activity models for that area, so the walking and driving themselves get labelled right more often in the places you do this a lot.
