Assigning a place to a data gap which I corrected as "stationary" does not work

When I try to correct a data gap and mark it as stationary, and then I try to choose a place, nothing happens when I try to click on choose place.

Hm. Curious. That sounds like my usual pattern for fixing those cases. I wonder what’s different.

Maybe it’s the order of actions. I tend to change the type of the data gap segment to “stationary” so that it gets split out as a separate Visit in the timeline. Then I either delete it (forcing it to be merged into the adjacent Visit) or assign the Place to it once it’s a fully fledged Visit in the timeline. Maybe that’s what’s different…

Hi Matt, I wonder too because it’s intermittent. Sometimes I can just choose the place, but for this time, no matter how many times I click, nothing happens. It’s strange indeed.

Yeah, another of those “hm, that’s weird” behaviours that lead to the creation of LocoKit2 and Arc Editor! Arc Timeline app has just got too old, the codebase littered with a decade of different technologies, app features on top of app features, fixes on top of fixes. It’s lead to too many mysteries in the app, that takes months or even years for me to finally find the causes of.

I’m hoping to have another beta build of Arc Editor ready next week, if all goes well. And I’m hopeful it’ll be getting quite close to generally usable.
