I’m trying to import some old GPX files, and I ran into a problem. After using Claude to clean up some noisy data, I imported one of the files into Arc, but the imported data doesn’t look correct. I then tried to remove it, but it won’t go away.

Thanks for the report, and especially for the diagnostics bundle and video — between them they nailed it. The bundle’s log captured the exact failure, several times over, and the timeline data showed precisely what state the day is in. We’ve got everything needed for the fix.
Confirmed: this is a real bug on our side (filed as BIG-645, high priority). What’s happening: the removal runs a final safety check before deleting anything, and Arc’s background timeline processing — which reacts whenever timeline items change — can rearrange the imported data between items at just the wrong moment, so the safety check keeps refusing to proceed. Repeated attempts make it more tangled rather than less. And the removal wasn’t reporting that failure on screen, so from your side it just looked like the timeline reshuffled and nothing else happened. That silent part is getting fixed too.
One thing your data also showed: the file appears to have been imported twice, so the day is carrying two overlapping copies of the same flight. That’s very likely a big part of why the imported data “didn’t look correct” in the first place, even before the removal trouble.
Nothing is lost, and nothing needs doing on your side for now. The tangle is confined to that one day, your original data is intact, and the import records are all still there — so once the fix ships, removing the imports will work cleanly, and a single fresh import of the file should give you the result you were after.
