Plans for more integrations?

New user to Arc and really liking it, thanks for the great app! The integreations make it all the more satisiying and valuable to use.

Are there any plans to add more integrations? Maybe native iOS/Apple services would be “straight forward”, assuming Apple provides some sort of API for developers? For example, Podcasts (simiar to the Last.fm showing music)?

Would be great to hear your thoughts! Thanks

Ooh I hadn’t thought of Podcasts! Though in truth I don’t really listen to any or use the Podcasts app. But it’s certainly a popular form of media, so totally makes sense to add.

Not sure if Apple expose any useful API there. They tend to skimp on exposing things like that. There’s a lot of stuff I’d love to integrate that just isn’t exposed for us to use.

I’d also love to get in things like Trakt, TV Time, IMDB ratings maybe (as a proxy for watch times)…

With the revolution in AI coding assistants this year it’s becoming much more viable to add smaller features like this quickly. So in the past where I would’ve said “I don’t know when I’ll ever find time for it”, there’s much more of a chance now that it’ll be something I can churn out in a day, with the help of one of the smarter robots to do the tedious parts.

It’ll be worth checking Arc’s Changemap site and voting on anything relevant there, or adding it if it’s missing. When I’m out of ideas, or looking for something fun and distracting, I’ll check there for what’s highest voted. Though I’ll sometimes also pick out something with less votes but that looks fun and doable in a weekend. And yeah, with AI assistants speeding things up so much these days, they all become a lot more viable.
