Hi Matt! I have been using Arc Timeline in the last few weeks and I’ve really loving it! However, there’s a bug in Arc Timeline that I’ve been encountering since day 1.
When I’m in the Overview tab, tapping the < icon (to view data from last month) always turns it into a spinning icon that will last forever.
I get the same behaviour in the Timeline tab if I tap the calendar icon, set to “Monthly,” and then tap the < arrow to go to the previous month.
Same behaviour in the Activity tab.
However, in the Timeline tab, if I set the calendar to “Weekly,” I can view data from previous weeks no problem.
Similarly, in the Overview tab, if I tap the … and select a specific day, I can view data from the previous month too.
If you have any idea what might have caused this and how to fix it, I would love to know!
For the bug you’re describing… it sounds like a problem with the back button yeah? Or at least, back button when range is set to monthly (as it always is in Overview tab).
I wonder if what it’s doing is checking for the start date of the previous range (ie first day of previous month), and if that’s before the earliest data in the database it says “nope”, and rejects the button tap. Even if there’s data inside that month.
Though in my own testing I can’t make it happen. So… my theory doesn’t really hold up. Hmm. Ok, I’ll log the bug in the issue tracking system and see if I can figure it out. Thanks for the heads up!
I do suspect though that it’ll be something that’s unique to that first month of data. So it shouldn’t affect getting to month views after that. Well at least I hope not. If once you’ve got more than 2 months of data you’re seeing it happen for more recent months too, definitely let me know!

That is correct!
This is quite plausible, and it would explain why I only experience this bug when the date range is set to Month—I started using Arc Timeline on May 28.
I will let you know if the bug persists after I have the entire Jun logged in Arc!
