Can data gaps caused by airplanes by manually connected in the map view?

I’m sure this has been asked before, but the data gaps caused by being in an airplane with no signal create disjointed streaks for me in the map. Is there a way to force the app into connecting an origin and destination with a straight line? In the timeline I can get it to accurately reflect the time in an aircraft but the map just shows me teleporting from end of runway to end of runway.

Thanks!!

i use alternative flight logs (Flighty and Delta apps) can those be imported into arc somehow if it’s not possible with the data Arc has alone?

I think that’s going to be the correct answer to these flight recording problems in the end. I was actually going to start on building that feature for old Arc Timeline, right when I realised the old app was just too old, and I had to start building a completely fresh one.

But I’m keen to get back to building that feature in Arc Editor soon! It’s disappointing to have low quality / messy flight recordings. And if you don’t have a window seat, or are flying in one of the planes that for some reason makes GPS signal almost impossible, it’s not pretty.

So yeah, what I’ll do is use the FlightRadar API (or whatever’s the preferred one these days), and make it possible to import the proper flight data from there, to replace the potentially messy stuff that Arc Editor managed to record itself.

And once that feature exists… well, I was going to say we might be able to go back and replace old flight recordings with imported data. But then I realised that might not be something the FlightRadar API supports. Though if it does, that’d be really cool too!
