Calendar overview is missing functions

The calendar view used to be useful. Now it’s missing crucial information.

I’m really missing the favourite days feature. I’m hoping that this will come back and that this information has been transferred from the old database somehow. I’ve highlighted favourite days for years now, and it helped me find journeys in the past.

Also, the calendar no longer shows, which days have been completely tagged/resolved. Again, this is not just useful but downright necessary if we want to keep our data clean.

Good news on the most important part first: your favourite days are not lost. We dug into the old app’s code and data today to check. It stores each favourited day in its own database on your phone, and that data is included in the old app’s backups too. The move to Arc Timeline 4 didn’t bring those flags across, but it also didn’t touch them — every one of your years of favourites is still sitting there safely, and bringing them across is entirely doable once the feature exists on the new side.

On your two asks:

Favourite days is now filed as its own ticket (BIG-646): marking and viewing favourite days in Arc Timeline 4, with the backfill of your existing flags from the old app’s data included in the scope.

Calendar completeness indicators (showing which days are fully tagged and resolved) are tracked under BIG-19, the annotated-calendar work. You’re in good company there — and your request just made it the single most-requested item on our whole list, so it’s carrying real weight in the queue now.

No promises on exact timing, as always, but both are properly on the books, and the calendar work in particular is now front of the demand queue.
