Thanks for the update making the subscriptions clearer. I realised after you wrote it was fake that if I continued through the subscription steps that it later told me that!
And yes, place merge was what I was referring to. Looking forward to that.
Another question about library size: I saw today that Arc Editor on my phone is around 23GB in size, though I’ve only had it installed a few weeks.
I had done a backup and restore of my Arc Timeline library because it was very large, and after a few days of processing it settled down at a much more polite size, and right now is showing at 406 MB!
That’s a big difference. Is that expected, or is something awry with my install of Arc Editor?
For the disk space consumption, that’s an ongoing mystery. It’s iOS reporting a number that doesn’t match any of the ground truth numbers. There’s more discussion about it in this thread: Disk space used by Arc Editor
But the gist is that iOS’s number doesn’t match the database size, the iCloud Drive size, the AppGroup size, nor all of those combined. It’s some other number, much higher than those combined, that is pure mystery at this point.
It’s presumably something outside of the app container, app group container, and iCloud Drive folder. But that iOS still thinks should be counted against the app’s total, even though it’s not something under the app’s control or making (so far as we can tell).
So at this point… there’s not really anything we can do about it! I might have to escalate it to an Apple tech ticket, to get someone to look at it on their side. Whatever it is, it’s not anything visible to us.
