Hey, I don’t anticipate this being an issue, but I fully switched to Editor last month. During that time my subscription to timeline ended and I guess I didn’t realize for two or so weeks (sorry).
Would it just be as simple as renewing and exporting the missing weeks of data from Editor into Timeline?
Hmm. Do you really need that data in the old app? I mean, are you going to go back to using the old app at all? Personally I’m 100% in on Arc Editor now, and only keep the old one installed because it’s my job
For the subscription itself, technically we’re kind of in a limbo free zone. Arc Editor is the new app, basically ready to almost fully replace the old app (and that’s how a bunch of us are treating it already), but it doesn’t require a subscription yet.
So … kinda … just don’t worry about it? Keep using Arc Editor, get a free month or two, then once Arc Editor goes final on the App Store and requires a subscription again, can restart the sub then?
This is totally not good for business for me! But… it is kinda a loophole that’s there. Might as well make use of it?
Haha. I appreciate it. No pressure and take your time if not obviously but is a couple months give or take when you’re expecting to release the official app?
I kind of could ship it to the App Store this month. It’s really just a matter of deciding which things need to be finished first or could wait until a v1.1 or v1.0.1 release.
I’m roughly thinking I’ll just polish up the current rough edges, avoid adding too much new functionality, and get it shipped sooner rather than later. The current functionality is pretty good, and all of the main bullet points are ticked. There’s just missing bits within the details, or some main features missing that power users or long time users care about more.
Anyway, I’ll probably lay out a plan for the release this week, then I’ll have a better sense of it. Let’s say maximum two months, and possibly before the end of this month.
I don’t know if I should consider myself a power user, but I’m definitely looking forward to you adding the “trust factor” system into Arc Editor! And also an accompanying Arc Recorder. These two might be the two areas where I least want a regression of performance from Arc Timeline.
Yeah the hotel I’m staying at this month creates terrible drifting location data, and it hasn’t settled down yet, a few days in. Trust Factor seems like it’ll have to come back. GPS data can still get very drifty!
